Green Baby

Saving the earth, one diaper at a time. Mommy wanted to give cloth diapers a try. She likes them because they are super cheap, they don't fill up the trash, and there is no diaper rash. Samantha likes them because the covers are so stylish and the cotton feels so good on her bottom.

See, look at me!
All covered. cute, huh?
You should try them too!

1 Month...

Can you believe it? Mommy said something about time needing to slow down. But I can't wait for Samantha to get bigger so she can play barbie's with me. Not much to report with a 1 month old. She does open her eyes more now, although when she is awake, she is crying most of the time. SOMETIMES, she likes to just look at me. I like that.

Oh, and don't be concerned with the strange rash on her face. Mommy took her to the Dr. and it is not baby acne. Something about her oil glands and her face being extra sensitive. Great. But we have some cream now and it is clearing right up.
3 years, 3 months...I am awesome. I am learning my letters and sounds. I know my colors and shapes. I can count to 30. My favorite color is pink. I love macaroni and cheese. I REALLY want an American Girl doll for Christmas (just throwing that out in case Santa is reading).
4 years, 10 months...Almost a 5 year old! Abbie is amazing. She knows all of her letters. She is learning to count to 100, and add and subtract. She loves sugar snap peas, edamame, and cupcakes. Her favorite animal is a meerkat. And have you seen this girl hula hoop?
Once again, Mommy said to SLOW DOWN!

SIsters

This is what mommy walked into the other afternoon after folding laundry. Showing her how to use the iphone is really important because you can do anything on an iphone.

You Took a Baby to the Fair???

Oh yes we did! A 3 week old baby to be exact. Open air, people...it's good for her. This is a family tradition. Daddy takes off a little early from work, and we all head out to Fair Park for some fried food, petting zoos, and rides.

She looks pretty miserable, huh?
Checkin out the grand prize pig.
A really scary crocodile ride.
And, luckily, we saw our friends Jake and Lindsay. Here is our first family fair pic.
The girls with Big Tex.
Can't wait until next October!

My Mom is BUSY.

So busy, that sometimes she forgets that I am only 3 and I still NEED a nap. So I have been having to take care of myself lately. Yesterday, I decided I was so tired that I would just go and climb into her bed. I knew she would find me eventually.

Neighbors

We have some great ones. And sometimes Daddy gets the sails out for us to play parachute.
And this is a common scene in our cul-de-sac on a sunny afternoon.
We LUV our neighbors!

A Few Firsts

OK. So it may seem like all I do is talk about my baby sister, but lately, that is pretty much all we talk about at my house. We are just loving her THAT much! She is so much fun, and we all forgot what it was like to have a baby around. Every day she does something for the first time. Exciting, huh???

First time in the bouncy seat. This is where she sits while we eat our dinner. We eat together as a family, so the bouncy is a perfect place for her.
First time meeting our cousin, Cooper. They are going to be good buddies, only 4 months apart.
First time meeting her bff, Hudson. Mommy said they "may" get married some day. Daddy says that "might" me alright since H's daddy, Max, is one of his very best friends.
First time eating dinner at the Harbor with our family. We love going to Glorias. Some day, I'll introduce her to the black bean dip. I could eat it with a spoon. It's that delicious.
First stroller ride to the park. The weather her in TX right now is so great!
I'm sure there are to be many more "firsts" for this little gal!

Home, Sweet Home!

After 3 days in the hospital, Mommy was DONE! That is why she headed out early with no make-up on (she wanted me to say that). We were at school on this day and couldn't wait to get home to see our sister, mommy, and daddy!

All buckled up and lookin' cute in her new outfit.
All of us Glaze girls have loved the swing. Samantha looks so tiny in it, doesn't she?
I am so proud to be a big sister!
Abbie loves Samantha Joy too!

Mommy, Daddy, Baby #3.
Mommy and Samantha Joy, on their way to meet US!
Yes, it was love at first sight. Now, Abbie and I are BOTH big sisters!

Baby Time!

Since Samantha decided to wait until her scheduled date, Mommy got to kick off the school year with us! Here we are on the first day of school (pre-school for me, pre-K for Abbie). On the first day of school, we got to tell our teachers that by the next day of class, we would have a new baby sister.

September 13, 2010. Mommy dropped me and Abbie off at Meme and Grandaddy's house and went home to pick up Daddy. By this time, Mommy said she was feeling some pretty regular contractions. Here is Mommy on her way out the door to have a baby (39 1/2 weeks).
Yep, Samantha decided she was ready the day of her scheduled day! Here is Mommy, feeling really uncomfortable, ready for her epidural, with contractions every 3 minutes! Baby will be here soon!

3 Weeks?!?!?!

How can that be? It seems like my little sister just came out of Mommy's tummy! We are having so much fun with her. Pretty much, she cries, sleeps, and eats...but every once in a while she likes to look at me. I am doing a great job with her. Kissing her head, holding her hand, making sure she is comfortable. Overall, I'd say I am a great big sister!

So, forgive me for not posting, but I've been super busy helping Mommy hold down the fort. I will be going in reverse order. Stay tuned...
